Pamman

Chattakaari (English: The Anglo Indian Girl) is a 2012 Malayalam romantic drama film written by Thoppil Bhasi based on Pamman's famous novel of the same name and directed by Santosh Sethumadhavan. It is the remake of the 1974 film of the same name, directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan.[2] The film was produced by Suresh Kumar under the banner of Revathy Kalamandir. It stars Shamna Kasim in the title roles.

The love affair between an Anglo-Indian girl and a Brahmin boy turns sour when the girl becomes pregnant and her mother decides to isolate her from her family till she delivers the baby.

Venkatchalam lives with his sister Indumathi, who hates men and vows to never get married. When Sanjeevi, Venkatchalam's friend, meets Indumathi, he falls in love with her.

Julie is an anglo-Indian girl with a loving, but alcoholic father and a domineering mother, a younger brother and sister. She falls in love with her best friend's brother Shashi Bhattacharya, a Hindu boy, and she has a passionate encounter with him, which leaves her pregnant. He goes away to college, not knowing about her condition. Her mother is distraught when Julie tells her about the pregnancy. They don't tell the rest of the family. Her mother thinks about getting Julie an abortion, but a devout Christian talks her out of it. Julie is sent away to have her baby in secret. The rest of the family is told that Julie got a job. When she comes back home, she runs into her Hindu boyfriend and tells him everything. He agrees to marry her, but his mother objects to the mixed marriage, not knowing about the baby born in secret. Julie's mother doesn't want the marriage either, as she and the rest of the family want to go to England

Chattakkari is a 1974 Malayalam-language Indian feature film directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan and produced by M. O. Joseph, starring Lakshmi, Mohan Sharma, Adoor Bhasi and Sukumari in lead roles. The film written by Thoppil Bhasi based on Pamman's famous novel of the same name. It was the first Malayalam film of Lakshmi and also the start of her romance with co-star Mohan Sharma. It bagged the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for Lakshmi, Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for Adoor Bhasi who played Laxmi's alcoholic father, and the Filmfare Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. Storywriter Pamman received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Story. It has the distinction of being the first Malayalam film to run continuously for 40 weeks in a Bangalore theatre. All Songs composed by well known music director G. Devarajan were instant hits.
