Amidst the election rivalry of two villages for the village head post, Cigugur and Cijulang, a troupe of Ronggeng artists, with its prima donna, Sari, arrives at the sub-district center for their regular performance. Sari and Dadang, the son of the Village Elder of Cijulang, are in love with each other. Dadang is also running as a candidate in the village head elections. But Ohim, the son of the Cigugur Village Elder, is also madly in love with Sari. He gets even more daring after a humiliating incident when he tries to touch Sari’s hair bun on the ronggeng stage. The touching of the hair bun is one of the rituals in the traditional art of Ronggeng. Dadang’s father is angered by his son’s relationship with Sari, since it could jeopardize his candidacy as the head of the village.

Wirya admits killing Achmad’s brother, for committing crime and adultery.
Marsan
Rainang tries to terrorize a corrupt village leader, Ciming, so that he would resign. But Marsan accidentally kills Ciming. As team leader, Rainang is willing to take responsibility (punishment by exile) while Marsan is appointed as the new village leader and Rausin (Rainang’s son) is sent to the Islamic boarding school. When Rausin returns to Kemayoran, the village leader, Marsan, is now a corrupt man. The Dutch reprimand him as the villagers no longer want to sell rice to them. The village leader then assigns Beureum, an assassin, to get rid of Rausin. But Toha and Cicih, the female warrior, support him. Rainang, who is thought to have passed away, appears and intervenes, and in the end, kills Marsan.
After returning from abroad, Amir is offered by his friends, Dahlan and Mariani, to start a school in a small village. To raise funds, they meet Johan, a millionaire. Johan has two daughters, Rohana and Itayati. Rohana, is attracted to Amir and this makes Mariani jealous. After Amir and Rohana are married, Johan is dissapointed by his son-in-law who has no talent in trade. Rohana is also jealous, as Amir is still in love with Mariani. In the end, his wife and his father-in-law both accept Amir.

Sukandar
Three sisters—Nunung (Chitra Dewi), Nana (Mieke Wijaya) and Nenny (Indriati Iskak)—are being raised by their grandmother (Fifi Young) in Jakarta after their mother's death. Though the sisters' father Sukandar (Hassan Sanusi (id)) lives with them, he is too involved in his own work to pay them heed. While the sisters are out with Nana's boyfriend Herman (Bambang Irawan), their grandmother tells Sukandar than she will not live to see Nunung, already aged 29, marry. He agrees to invite his colleagues to the house. When they come several days later, Nunung impresses all present with her piano-playing and singing. However, the men are all too old, and Nunung's grandmother insists that Sukandar find a younger man. Nenny, overhearing the conversation, suggests that they hold a party; this too is a failure, as Nunung takes no interest in the festivities.
Guntur, a boxer, checks into a hotel on the day before his match, with his coach. In the hotel, Guntur stays in a room next to Udel and his wife. To secure victory, coach Hasan Sanusi poisons Guntur’s eyes. After dropping Guntur at the hospital, Tjepot, his coach, sees Udel, who resembles Guntur. He persuades Udel to fight in Guntur’s place. At first Udel resists, but he finally agrees, after Guntur’s girlfriend, also mistakes Udel for Guntur, by hugging him. At the end, his wife is also very proud of him. After the match when he manages to knock his opponent out, the two women begin to fight over him. The problem is solved when Guntur shows up.
Wedana
An impending visit from a VIP causes chaos and confusion in the small, isolated village of Sukaslamet. Things take a hilarious turn when the herbal medicine seller is mistaken for the exalted guest and is accorded a ceremonial welcome in the most elaborate Javanese style.
