Como una gran cantidad de mochileros antes que él, Luis llega a Berlín para recorrerse las numerosas discotecas de la ciudad y consumir drogas. Durante su periplo eufórico para olvidar las penas, Luis conoce a un misterioso ucraniano con barba, Viktor, del que se enamora. Viktor se encuentra en Berlín de manera ilegal y parece que tiene alguna conexión con la desaparición del hermano de una chica griega, Dimitri, un chico que curiosamente se parece mucho a Luis.
