Police suspect foul play in her disappearance and suspect her parents. Jennifer attempted a coat hanger abortion at Kidnapper's house and had a near death experience. The child Mia whom he kidnapped kept pining for her mother until she catch pneumonia in the cold house without any utilities. She was taken to hospital but was kidnapped by someone else. Kidnapper is hounded by memories of a singing blind girl whom he killed for fun in Afghanistan.

Suzy's a British soldier, born and bred, but fitting back into civilian life after fighting in Iraq isn't easy. Haunted by the responsibility she feels for the death of an Iraqi child, she becomes obsessed with the safety of her own daughter, feeling the need to protect her against a threat that doesn't seem to exist. As Suzy's paranoia builds, her behaviour becomes more and more erratic, until finally, she puts her own child in serious danger.

Dura historia real sobre una de las víctimas del llamado "ferrocarril de la muerte", construido por mano de obra forzada y prisioneros de guerra durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Para conseguir mandar apoyo a sus tropas en la Campaña de Birmania de 1942, Japón decidió construir unas vías que cruzaran desde Tailandia hasta el lugar donde se hallaban sus aliados, cruzando Bangkok y Rangún. Para llevar a cabo la obra de tal magnitud se dispuso de trabajadores asiáticos y presos enemigos británicos, australianos, holandeses y estadounidenses, entre otros. Muchos de ellos murieron en condiciones inhumanas, otros perecieron de cansancio y agotamiento, y de los pocos supervivientes llega una visión de primera mano de la realidad que se vivió allí.
