Remake de una conocida película de 1949 que adapta una novela de Robert Penn Warren que obtuvo el premio Pulitzer en 1946. Ambientada en Luisiana, narra la vida de un político idealista que alcanza el poder, pero cuya carrera se verá afectada por la corrupción.
