Una serie de misteriosos estrangulamientos en Londres hacen sospechar a Nyland Smith, de Scotland Yard, que el diabólico Fu Manchú sigue vivo.
La tumba de Gengis-Kan es descubierta en el desierto de Gobi, lo cual suscita el interés de todos los arquéologos del globo. También acapara la atención de Fu Manchú, quien estima que poseyendo la máscara y la espada del mítico guerrero se granjeará la unión de los pueblos de Oriente y de esa manera conquistará el mundo.
