This film highlights the deep roots of the creation, more than thirty years ago, by each of the African-American pioneers of techno music, of their own record labels.

Rodada en un único plano secuencia, el film tiene como escenario el famoso barrio berlinés de Kreuzberg. La cámara es testigo de todo lo que le pasa a la joven Victoria, una joven española de Berlín, durante dos horas de su vida: desde las cuatro de la mañana hasta las seis: desde que conoce a cuatro jóvenes para los que la noche acaba de empezar, y cómo en ese breve periodo de tiempo le suceden cosas que darán un giro total a su vida.

Martin Karow es Dj Ickarus, un disc-jockey y productor de electro en la cresta de la ola. Sus noches transcurren en clubs de techno alrededor del mundo y sus días de aeropuerto en aeropuerto. Le acompaña Mathilde, su manager y novia. Ambos se encuentran en plena producción del próximo álbum de Ickarus cuando, tras una de sus actuaciones, Martin acaba en los servicios de urgencia de un hospital psiquiátrico berlinés debido a los excesos con las drogas. Durante los días que deberá pasar internado, continúa trabajando en su disco, pero su situación personal comienza a resultar demasiado frustrante. La compañía discográfica no parece demasiado interesada en publicar su trabajo y, tras escaparse del hospital, se entrega a un orgiástico fin de semana en compañía de una de sus fans. La espiral autodestructiva en la Martin se ha situado parece no tener fin y, de nuevo, ingresará en el hospital, esta vez por propia voluntad.

Tras un infructuoso asalto a una casa, Dave se ve obligado a huir, dejando tras de sí a su hermano Kenneth, quien por no delatar a su hermano deberá pasar cuatro años en la cárcel. Al cabo de ese tiempo, Kenneth quiere retomar las cosas justo desde el lugar en que las dejó pero las cosas, inevitablemente, han cambiado: Sylvie, su novia, no quiere volverlo a ver y Dave ahora es un abstemio empecinado en volver al buen camino. Lo que ignora, además, es que Dave y Sylvie tienen algo más que esconder: ambos sueñan con una vida banal, honesta y ordenada en el seno de la cual podría incubarse su futura pequeña familia. At the end of the Cold War, something new arised that should influence an entire generation and express their attitude to life. It started with an idea in the underground subculture of Berlin shortly before the fall of the Wall. With the motto "Peace, Joy, Pancakes", Club DJ Dr. Motte and companions launched the first Love Parade. A procession registered as political demonstration with only 150 colorfully dressed people dancing to house and techno. What started out small developed over the years into the largest party on the planet with visitors from all over the world. In 1999, 1.5 million people took part. With the help of interviews with important organizers and contemporary witnesses, the documentary reflects the history of the Love Parade, but also illuminates the dark side of how commerce and money business increasingly destroyed the real spirit, long before the emigration to other cities and the Love Parade disaster of Duisburg in 2010, which caused an era to end in deep grief.

To quote a Cuban comedian: “where does the Cocuyo hide its battery?”, just thanks to its peculiarity, Desiderio uses this cockroach as a perfect metaphor to describe his protagonists: with their green lights during the night and virtually impossible to find during the day. In his movie, he tries to find the battery of the Cocuyo living and looking for the “day-time” part, creating a path made by portraits and with an anti-narrative style.
