Cuando Andie, una temperamental bailarina, ingresa en la Maryland School of the Arts, no le resulta fácil integrarse en el grupo sin perder su personalidad. Así que decide unirse a Chase, el bailarin con más carácter de la escuela, para formar un grupo de alumnos marginados que participarán en una competición de baile alternativo de Baltimore.

Drama sobre una competición de baile de hip-hop en la que se enfrentan distintas bandas mediante duelos de bailarines. Son jóvenes y raperos, y para poder lograr sus sueños utilizan lo que mejor saben hacer: bailar. Elgin y David son dos grandes amigos que bailan en la calle por dinero. Pero, cuando otro gran grupo de la ciudad los desafía a una batalla de baile, David y Elgin, junto con sus colegas del grupo, deberán crear y perfeccionar los movimientos más desafiantes para ser los mejores.
Película que gira en torno al fenómeno del Breakdance durante los años 80. Kelly es una bailarina que a través de un compañero conoce a dos bailarines callejeros, para los cuales el baile es una forma de vida que nada tiene que ver con lo que enseñan en las academias. Poco a poco Kelly se interesará por el baile callejero, y bailando con ellos triunfará en las fiestas de Hip Hop, pero aún queda conquistar a los jueces de traje y corbata.
Kelly (Lucinda Dickey), Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones), y Turbo (Michael Chambers) intentarán detener la demolición de un centro de recreación de la comunidad.
