Andie (Briana Evigan) é uma dançarina de rua rebelde, que entrou para a conceituada Maryland School of the Arts. O local é frequentado pela elite da sociedade local, ou seja, o tipo de pessoa bem diferente das quais Andie costuma lidar. Precisando enfrentar barreiras para se ambientar com os novos colegas, ela inicia fora da escola um projeto ousado: formar um grupo de dança de rua. Para tanto conta com a ajuda de Chase (Robert Hoffman), o dono da escola de dança mais quente da região.
Um talentoso dançarino de rua começa a estudar em uma faculdade que está cheia de alunos ricos. Ali ele conhece uma interessante garota, mas tem dificuldades para se entrosar com os outros alunos. Quando ele descobre que existe uma competição de dança entre as fraternidades do campus, logo vê a chance de se relacionar. Assim, ele entre para uma delas e aprende toda a herança por trás da fraternidade, com a ajuda da menina por quem está apaixonado. Agora ele precisa lidar com várias coisas de uma só vez, manter os estudos, se dedicar à competição de dança, onde deverá aprender a dançar em grupo já que só sabe dançar sozinho, e ainda conquistar a garota de seus sonhos.
