Sinopsis
En un futuro distópico, las personas llevan escritas en la frente la característica que mejor las define, su estatus, que dividirá a la sociedad en dos clases: los válidos, buenos, y los nulos, que están perseguidos por el sistema. En una familia de válidos sale un hijo nulo, algo que nunca ocurriera, amenazando la posición de toda la familia.
Nicholas Van Orton es un perspicaz e influyente hombre de negocios acostumbrado a controlar absolutamente todas las facetas de su existencia.
