David Byrne es artista visual y músico, y desde sus primeros días como miembro de Talking Heads, ha querido que sus conciertos sean más que una actuación estática. En 1984, Byrne y el cineasta Jonathan Demme redefinieron los límites de la película del concierto con el documental STOP MAKING SENSE de Talking Heads, y más de 25 años después, Byrne se asoció con David Hillman para crear RIDE, RISE, ROAR, que documenta la película de Byrne en 2008- Gira de conciertos de 2009, en la que interpreta material nuevo escrito en colaboración con Brian Eno, así como los favoritos de su carrera en solitario y de su paso por Talking Heads.
