Sur de Brasil, en 1963. Tony (Johnny Massaro), hijo de un francés y una brasileña, es un joven enamorado del cine y la poesía que, tras graduarse en la universidad, vuelve a su pequeña ciudad natal en el Brasil rural para descubrir que su padre (Vincent Cassel) ha regresado a Francia para siempre.
