"Letters from Silivri" draws on letters of the Turkish philanthropist and public intellectual Osman Kavala to document a timeline of his imprisonment. By separating voice and image the film intends to create an echo chamber that allows audiences to listen more carefully to Kavala’s letters, while at the same time place his words in context to a civil society.

A model family's happy life unexpectedly goes off the rails when the carefree Hedi, played by Laura Tonke, suddenly starts having panic attacks. First mental illness and then drug dependency – the happiness that these happy-go-lucky thirty-somethings once took for granted suddenly seems unattainable, and their world fragile and uncertain.

A la luz de estas nuevas evidencias, los experimentos comunales, la conciencia social y el pueblo organizado parecen ser los ingredientes necesarios para rescatar una metrópolis que todavía no está del todo perdida.
