Pero, después de un comienzo un tanto complicado, Ash y Pikachu se convierten en buenos amigos y compañeros, y, cuando consiguen vislumbrar volando al Pokémon legendario Ho-Oh, hacen planes para ir a buscarlo juntos, guiados por el Ala Arcoíris que se deja atrás.
