Grandpa is about to turn 80. His son and grandsons begin a journey to his homeland, Huamachuco, a place he has not seen since he was 9 years old. Along the way they discover an unexpected past and the journey will become a path of no return.

Tras años de solicitarla y sin resultados, una noche por fin llega la luz eléctrica a las calles de La Estrella, un barrio marginal de Bogotá habitado por desplazados de la violencia en Colombia. Rápidamente, los vecinos toman ilegalmente esa energía para iluminar sus casas, ante la firme oposición del edil. La alegría generalizada pronto se transforma en conflicto cuando, por unos cables mal tendidos, dos familias muy amigas entre sí se enfrentan hasta el límite.
