Isamu Imakake (今掛 勇, Imakake Isamu, 22 de abril de 1968) es un animador, supervisor de animación, diseñador mecánico y de personajes y director de anime. Nacido en la prefectura de Kagoshima. Se hizo muy conocido por la diseño de la escenografía de Cowboy Bebop. Ha sido un miembro independiente de Gainax desde 1988, y en el pasado ha estado activo en manga, portadas de libros e ilustraciones. Actualmente, es director de trabajos de películas de animación, director de animación y diseño de personajes.

Segunda de las 2 películas, "Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth", que trataban de dar un cierre a la altura de la serie Neon Genesis Evangelion, pues terminó de una forma críptica y hermética con su último capítulo 26, duramente criticado. La segunda parte, "Rebirth", duraba 27 minutos y trataba los capítulos 25 y 26. Se estrenó en cines en 1997 y fue todo un éxito de taquilla en Japón. Y aún así, supo a poco, así que se reinterpretaron y reeditaron de nuevo esos dos episodios en una nueva película llamada The End of Evangelion que duraba hora y media y daba a toda la historia un final aún más oscuro.

Primera película realizada tras la serie Neon Genesis Evangelion que consta de 2 partes: "Death" y "Rebirth". La primera parte, "Death", es un breve resumen de lo que sucede en la serie e incluye alguna escena inédita. La segunda parte, "Rebirth", es lo que sucede tras el capítulo 24 de la serie. El desenlace se muestra en la segunda película: "Evangelion: The End of Evangelion".

Lupin recibe un enorme diamante llamado Crepúsculo (amanecer en el doblaje latino) de parte del viejo Dolune, el jefe del Sindicato Europeo de Crimen Organizado. El diamante es en realidad la llave para acceder a un tesoro abandonado por el clan Gelt hace un siglo.
Lupin viaja a Marruecos, donde supuestamente se encuentra el tesoro, pero resulta que hay dos Crepúsculos, y sin ambos, la puerta hacia el tesoro no se abrirá. Se dice que la otra parte de la llave está en poder del hijo de Dolune, pero no se sabe quién es ni dónde está. Al mismo tiempo, otro grupo está buscando el tesoro, unos asesinos contratados por los descendientes del clan Gelt. Una gran pelea se desata y naturalmente, Lupin queda atrapado en el medio de ella.

Lupin se introduce clandestinamente en la República de Zafu como carcelero con el objetivo de liberar a ciertas personas que podrían ayudarle a encontrar el tesoro del antiguo rey. Tras localizarlo, su primer intento por conseguirlo es inútil, y es perseguido (junto a Jigen y Goemon) y le tienden multitud de trampas por todos lados. Cuando se conoce su presencia en el país, se ofrece una recompensa de 1 millón de dólares por su cabeza, ¡vivo o muerto! Pronto, todos los cazarrecompensas del país lo perseguirán. Ahora debe preocuparse por sus perseguidores además del tesoro de Zafu.

When a military satellite triggers a catastrophic disaster, the colonists must cope with a world turned literally inside out with a nuclear reactor that threatens to turn the entire asteroid into a miniature sun in a matter of hours!

An archaeological expedition finds the mummified bodies of Genghis Khan and his army somewhere in Mongolia. Unaware that the location is cursed, the explorers wake up the former ruler of the Mongolian empire. He warns the intruders that a large calamity will befall the world in one thousand days. The only ones who can prevent this from happening are three persons who bear wolf-shaped arrow scars. They must join forces and kill the "three emperors" so that the Khan's soul can once again sleep for a thousand years.
