El documental examina la agitación política actual del norte de África y la responsabilidad de las potencias occidentales, especialmente Estados Unidos y Francia, por medio del ejercicio en sus estrategias políticas internacionales de la Realpolitik, la política exterior basada en intereses prácticos y económicos en lugar de en principios éticos o teóricos. Estas políticas han generado una gran inestabilidad que finalmente ha ocasionado gran violencia y caos. El filme se centra en la situación del Sahara Occidental, la última colonia africana según Naciones Unidas, una región al borde de la guerra.

Baionarena is a live album and DVD release in 2009 by Manu Chao and Radio Bemba. It was recorded during summer 2008 in the Arena of Bayonne during the Fêtes de Bayonne, hence the name Baionarena which also happens to mean the one that belongs to Bayonne in Basque.

Formed by Manu and Antoine Chao, along with their cousin Santiago Casariego, the French band Mano Negra was formed in 1987, in Paris. The band was immediately spotted in the music scene for its unique style that mixed rock, French chanson, flamenco, ska, salsa, reggae, hip-hop and African rhythms.During the '90s, Mano Negra reached its greatest commercial success both in Europe and in the Spanish-speaking world, where it left an influential mark for contemporary music. The documentary chronicles Mano Negra's entire career through the testimonies of its members, as well as bands sharing their beginnings, such as Los Carayos, Joint de Culasse and Hot Pants.

This year the festival had chartered their own plan from London to bring the coolest bands in Britain to Sweden, which prompted television personality Henrik Schyffert to quip "If this plane crashes the hottest band in England will be Marillion"
