Arnulfo Rubio (Kristyan Ferrer) es un joven de Sinaloa que está implicado en el tráfico de armas de Estados Unidos a México. Por su parte, Hank Harris (Tim Roth), un veterano agente de la ATF, lo vigila desde el otro lado de la frontera. Un incidente mínimo hace que los dos entren en contacto y vayan juntos a un lugar muy peligroso. Aunque son enemigos, durante el largo viaje se darán cuenta de que quizá el único modo de salvarse será confiar el uno en el otro.
