Fumi Tsubota (坪田 文, Tsubota Fumi, 7 de julio de 1983) es una guionista japonesa nacida en la prefectura de Okayama que escribe guiones para una amplia gama de géneros, incluidos dramas, anime, películas y obras teatrales. Se graduó en la Facultad de Arte de la Universidad de Nihon, Departamento de Drama. Completó el programa de maestría en el Departamento de Artes Escénicas de la Escuela de Arte en la Universidad de Nihon, y tiene una maestría en arte. Mientras estaba en la escuela, recibió orientación de Isawo Takahashi (高橋 いさを) y Ren Saitō (斎藤 憐). En julio de 2002, presidió la Kūkan Zerī (空間ゼリー), una compañía de teatro solo para mujeres con el concepto de «simpatizar con las mujeres y maravillar a los hombres», siendo la responsable de escribir todas las obras de dicha compañía.
