The story begins traditionally: the wolf meets little Red riding hood and tries various tricks to lure her food. But soon he realizes that this little red riding hood is not to be trifled with. She deftly grabs the wolf, introduces it to her grandmother, and soon turns it into a pet.

The Little Man lives happily in his little house in the Hollow Mountain. His peaceful life ends once he begins to have dreams about a mysterious house where he is to find what he desires. Even though he does not feel like having any desires, he crack the mystery himself.

In a godforsaken cave, a traveling journeyman fills his pockets with gold. Voita lost his father and mother in the war and is now seeking his fortune in the world. He got to the abyss at Gallows Mountain only by chance - or have mysterious powers led him there in this spooky stormy night? Suddenly, he notices a strange fellow among the treasures. The apparent ghost and custodian of this treasure chases away the young man, who still manages to secretly pocket a small, fateful lighter...

Esta es la conclusión a la que llega Saxana después de vivir una trepidante aventura en el mundo mágico, donde descubrirá que su madre es una bruja. Saxana está jugando en el ático cuando descubre un libro algo especial… ¡los dibujos hablan y se mueven! Con ayuda de un nuevo amigo que acaba de saltar del libro, Saxana recorrerá el mundo mágico, donde conocerá a criaturas muy particulares, algunas buenas y otras…no tanto. Para su sorpresa su tía también aparecerá en el mundo mágico, aunque con unas intenciones algo distintas.

This adaptation of a book by Jiří Marek consists of four animated episodes that are interconnected by a live-action element.

The film contains three Jan Werich's fairy tales, each directed by one artist. The first story sets out to the Sumava mountains in Southern Bohemia to find out whether Ogres ever lived there. The middle tale The Hat and the Little Jay Feather concerns a king who sends his three sons to bring back a hat he left at a tavern when he was young. The third and longest fairy tale Reason and Luck is about the two virtues of the title try to prove their importance by changing the life of a pig herder named Louis. Written by

Břetislav Pojar directs the story of Thumbelina, Aurel Klimt "The Hunchbacks of Damascus", Vlasta Pospíšilová "Three Sisters and a Ring" and Jan Balej close the film with "The Sea, Uncle, Why is it Salty?".

La película adapta cinco de esos cuentos: “Cuando las hojas caen del roble”, “Frankie Sinmiedo”, “Barka el Avaro”, “Un sueño cumplido” y “Fimfárum”. Los relatos están narrados a la manera de las antiguas fábulas, con un gran entendimiento de la naturaleza humana y de sus vicios, pero son modernas, irreverentes, divertidas, dulces y traviesas, y sus moralejas resultan sorprendentes.
