Haru, de 17 años, emprende un largo viaje a través de Japón para buscar respuestas en una ciudad donde, en 2011, el devastador tsunami se llevó a su hermano y sus padres. Este viaje lleva a la joven, todavía atormentada por la pérdida, desde Hiroshima a Tokio, Fukushima y Ōtsuchi, donde una vez estuvo su hogar. En el camino se encuentra con otras personas y las historias de sus pérdidas.

Kei works at a cocktail bar, while Ai works as a model. Fearing she'll be ostracized by society, Kei chooses not to admit her sexual orientation to anyone, and, as a result, she becomes distressed and lonely. One day, Kei gets close to Naima, an Iranian student studying art in Japan.

'We have to kill him', the wife and her lover thought. When three childhood friends reunite, it doesn't take long before two of them feel the woman's husband is in their way. They push him into a lake, but the boat capsizes and all three are thrown into the water. The lovers reach the shore, but the husband is nowhere. Has he drowned? They decide to wait at a lakeside hotel for his body to be found.
