Basado en la serie Sakura Taisen de Sega, una franquicia de enorme popularidad en Japón que relata batallas de mechas protagonizadas por un grupo de pilotos mujeres que se disfrazan como actrices en un teatro folclórico japonés. La historia está ubicada poco después de los eventos del juego Sakura Taisen 3 e introduce al personaje de Ratchet Altair, quien actúa como la nueva líder de la tropa de la flor llegada desde el extranjero, esta luego regresaría para el videojuego Sakura Taisen V. Los enemigos son unos extraños monstruos gigantes llamados Kouma, aliados con un ambicioso empresario bélico estadounidense. Se estrenó solo en cines japoneses mientras que en el resto del mundo fue lanzada en TV y video con el nombre de Sakura Wars: The Movie.

To lift the exile set on the family, Papa, the head of the household, must scare 1000 humans. To this end, he attempts to use his magnificent skills in making new inventions, but always and inevitably fails. To complicate things further, Papa's daughter Suh falls in love with a young human boy and no longer wants to return to Monster Land. Will Papa ever get his family back home?
