Seis años después de la violenta muerte de su marido, Amelia (Essie Davis) continúa perdida intentando educar a Samuel (Noah Wiseman), su hijo de seis años, que vive aterrorizado por un monstruo que se le aparece en sueños y amenaza con matarlos.
