Director belga nacido en Bruselas. Su verdadero nombre era Pierre Cohen. Desarrolló su actividad en Francia y Argentina. Huyó de Francia cuando la invasión alemana llegaba a la zona libre de Vichy. Tomó el último tren que partió hacia Barcelona, en el año 1942 y más tarde a Buenos Aires. Gracias a contactos con el director argentino Luis Saslavsky, se relacionó con sus primeros productores. Permaneció cuatro años en Argentina, rodando Todo un hombre (1943), El muerto falta a la cita (1944), Se abre el abismo (1944) y Viaje sin regreso (1946). Volvió a Francia pero sus films no alcanzaron la notoriedad previa.
