Marta Rodríguez is a pioneer of documentary film in Latin America and member of the New Latin American Cinema movement that emerged in 1968. She has positioned herself as the best and most important documentary maker in Colombia and Latin America during her artistic career of 50 years, with a filmography that boasts 18 award-winning documentaries at major film festivals.

Todo es fiesta, sexo y alcohol hasta que comienzan a ser víctimas de macabras bromas asesinas.

Chircales es la búsqueda de una metodología adaptada a las condiciones socio-políticas de América Latina. Su filmación se inicia en el año 1966 al sur de la ciudad de Bogotá en un barrio llamado “Tunjuelito” donde existían grandes haciendas cuyos dueños arrendaban sus tierras para la producción artesanal de ladrillos. Colombia viene de vivir la violencia del año 48 y grandes masas de población campesina migran a las ciudades, refugiándose en estas zonas sub-urbanas.
