Barbara Hug es una joven abogada que luchó contra el anticuado sistema penitenciario de Suiza en la década de 1980. Walter Stürm está preso y, a menudo, escapa de la cárcel y se le conoce como el Rey de las fugas. Cuando los dos se encuentran, se forma una alianza insólita.

Aunque ya ha buscando sin éxito armas de destrucción masiva en Irak como miembro de una misión especial de las Naciones Unidas, el experto en armas bioquímicas Arndt Wolf sigue estando obsesionado con la idea de que Saddam Hussein esconde algo. Ninguna de las personas que le rodean muestra el menor interés en esta cuestión, circunstancia que cambia de la noche a la mañana cuando un refugiado político del gobierno iraquí asegura haber estado involucrado en la creación de este tipo de armas. El Servicio de Inteligencia Federal alemán convoca a Wolf para que evalúe si la información del informante, a quien se le ha otorgado el sobrenombre de "Curveball", es o no cierta.

Mirko Talhammer is beyond himself when two strange guys show up in his noble insurance office and remind him where he really comes from: from a scrapyard in the provinces, where careers are not what counts, other things are more important: scrapping things, the family, and every once in a while, a nice fist fight. Screenplay
Marc, an unexperienced medical doctor from Germany arrives at the Hospital Universitario del Valle in Cali, Colombia for his internship and soon finds himself in-between a raging gang war in Siloé, a Cali barrio. In the hospital he has to care mostly for shotgun wounds, while in the streets he falls in love with a stall-holder who cares for some of the children involved in drug trafficking and criminal violence. Alienating his colleagues and his host family while befriending the kids, he soon finds himself trapped in the center of the violent conflict between the gangs and has to come to a decision.
