Tai-shian is locked away in his own autistic universe, totally lost to the world. His parents spend every day looking after him, rendering Tai-shian’s little sister Debby completely invisible to her parents…until one day, when both parents are gone, and Debby finds a new task thrust upon her.

Yeh, a gifted student, transfers to Edison Junior High, a private school renowned for its academic performance. Disturbed by the gloomy atmosphere and distorted institutions, the rebellious Yeh begins to challenge everything he sees and feels. Little does he know that he is slowly falling into the treacherous trap of the mysterious "Dorm 420".

Lo que en principio parecían unos días de vacaciones para dos jóvenes soldados que están a punto de licenciarse terminan convirtiéndose en una misión a la caza de un compañero novato que ha desertado llevándose su arma. Mientras uno de ellos no quiere renunciar a la diversión y la ociosidad, el otro aprovecha la expedición para rastrear el paradero de su amor de adolescencia, una joven con la que está obsesionado desde que ha soñado que había muerto. La encuentra en un sanatorio mental, donde ha sido internada después de sufrir una crisis al suspender un examen. Los tres se embarcan entonces en un periplo hacia un pequeño pueblo pescador y en su afán por escapar de la realidad descubrirán las razones de la deserción de su compañero.
