Advice columnist, Dan Burns is an expert on relationships, but somehow struggles to succeed as a brother, a son and a single parent to three precocious daughters. Things get even more complicated when Dan finds out that the woman he falls in love with is actually his brother's new girlfriend.

Waves is a visually breathtaking film about the power of the sea. With coastal scenes harking back to the majesty of Flaherty’s Man of Aran (1934), Carey offers a unique sea-centred depiction of the islands as his painterly cinematography offers mesmerising images of roiling seas, waves crashing against the Aran rocks, sunsets and a golden full moon. John Taylor, friend and colleague of Carey, had originally worked on Man of Aran and filmed some of the additional photography in Waves.

After a day of gathering hundreds of seashells and rocks from the beach, Jarnow uses the found objects to construct a stop motion commentary on how we look at nature through various cinematic techniques.

Short film focusing on an adolescent girl suffering from agoraphobia. The character spends most of her time indoors, isolating herself from the outside world. The film follows the character in an apparent state of hypnagogia. In this deep, relaxed state of consciousness she finds herself unable to distinguish her dreams from reality. This is mirrored in the editing between digital and hi-8 video footage and two differ- ent compositions made from ambient sound recordings. Described as being based on a play by Talaya Delaney, Kevin Jerome Everson' silent HOUSE IN THE NORTH COUNTRY is not your typical stage adaptation. For one, it is unclear where the rehearsal ends and the performance begins. Everson's close-ups offer a distinctly cinematic rendering of theatrical blocking, with the actors' repeated movements (a soldier’s salute, a woman's carrying a lit torch) taking on heightened significance. The plot remains obscure but Everson conjures a psychological intensity comparable to Maya Deren's studies for camera. - Max Goldberg
