大きな野望を抱く傭兵集団“鷹の団”のカリスマ、グリフィスは、一匹狼として生きてきた剣士ガッツを仲間に引き入れることに成功し、数々の激闘で勝利を収め、ミッドランド王国の中で存在感を高めていく。そんな中、敵国チューダー帝国との最終決戦を迎えていたミッドランドでは、難攻不落のドルドレイ要塞攻略に手こずり、苦戦を強いられていた。するとグリフィスは国王に、鷹の団だけで出陣するという作戦を進言し、無謀とも思える戦いに踏み込んでいくのだが…。

100年戦争が続く戦乱の世。家族も友もいない孤独な剣士ガッツは、傭兵として戦地を渡り歩く日々。傭兵集団“鷹の団”を率いるグリフィスは、そんなガッツの強さに目を付け、決闘で彼を制して鷹の団に引き入れる。ガッツは数々の戦闘で圧倒的な強さを見せるとともに、次第に仲間たちやグリフィスとの絆を強めていく。そんな中、鷹の団唯一の女剣士キャスカだけは、ガッツとことあるごとに衝突を繰り返していた。やがて、鷹の団はミッドランド王国の正規軍にまでのし上がっていくのだが…。

ガッツが去ったことで自暴自棄となったグリフィスが反逆の罪で囚われ、鷹の団も逆賊として追われる身となって１年。崩壊していく団を率いるキャスカの前に、再びガッツが現われる。キャスカは怒りをぶつけながらも、その言葉とは裏腹にガッツと身も心も結ばれていく。その後２人は、わずかに残る仲間と共にグリフィス救出へと向かう。しかし幽閉されていたグリフィスは、凄惨な拷問の末に、見るも無惨な姿と成り果てていた。そんな全てを失い、絶望に打ち震えるグリフィスの前に、失われたはずのベヘリット“覇王の卵”が現われるが…。

J.K. Rowling, who is lending unseen manuscripts, drawings and drafts from her private archives (which will sit alongside treasures from the British Library, as well as original drafts and drawings from Jim Kay) talks about some of the personal items she has lent to the exhibition and gives new insight into her writing, looking at some of the objects from the exhibition that have fired her imagination.
