フランスを代表する新旧８人の大女優たちが歌って踊る、絢爛豪華にしてとびきり楽しいミュージカル仕立てのミステリー。監督は早くも風格さえ感じさせ始めたフランスでもっとも期待を集める若手監督、「焼け石に水」「まぼろし」の鬼才フランソワ・オゾン。主が殺され、互いに疑心暗鬼になる８人の女性たちの姿をユーモアと毒気をちりばめた才気溢れる演出で描く。2002年ベルリン国際映画祭では、本作で夢のような競演を果たした女優陣全員に銀熊賞（最優秀芸術貢献賞）が授与され話題を振りまいた。 　1950年代のフランス。クリスマスを祝うため、雪に閉ざされた大邸宅に家族が集うこととなった。その日の朝、メイドのルイーズが、一家の主マルセルの部屋へ遅い朝食を持っていくと、彼はナイフで背中を刺され死んでいた。外から何者かが侵入した形跡はない。電話線は切られ、雪で外部との連絡を完全に絶たれた８人の女たち。祝祭気分は一転、彼女たちは疑心暗鬼を募らせていく。やがて、互いの詮索が始まる。そして、次々と彼女たち一人ひとりの思惑や秘密が暴露されていく…。

演劇学院生のイヴは車を運転しながら、友人のジョナサンの告白を聞く。彼は愛人の女優シャーロットの殺人の後始末をしようとして女中に目撃されて逃げてきたところだという。当然のように犯人扱いされた彼をイヴは海辺の別宅に住む父に匿うよう頼む。そして、シャーロットの女中を買収し、その従妹ドリスとして女優の身辺を探るイヴだったが、偶然知り合った刑事スミスが彼女に興味を持ち付きまとうので、せっかくの一人二役もバレそうになる…。

Martial is discharged from a mental insitution where he spent a few years due to a serious nervous breakdown. Upon his return he finds his mother, a busy business woman who owns a supermarket chain, convinced that her son will be able to find himself again if tasked with some responsibilities. Soon enough, he's sent to Limoges on a business trip to check on one of their stores in the hope to reinvigorate the failing business. Once he arrives, Martial is faced with responsibilities he had never imagined, including dealing with the store's personnel.

Spoiled Jessie Montgomery, whose wild behavior and spending excesses cause her well-meaning but exasperated millionaire father Charles to wish he never had her, is visited by fairy godmother Stella. A wealthy landlord who lives a decadent life with his wife and son. His passion - his wife would call it his addiction - is music, and he spends a great deal of his fortune on concerts held for the locals in his magnificent music room. He feels threatened by his neighbour, a commoner who has attained riches through business dealings. His passion for music and quest for social respect are his undoing, as he sacrifices his family and wealth trying to retain it.

When elderly pensioner Umberto Domenico Ferrari returns to his boarding house from a protest calling for a hike in old-age pensions, his landlady demands her 15,000-lire rent by the end of the month or he and his small dog will be turned out onto the street. Unable to get the money in time, Umberto fakes illness to get sent to a hospital, giving his beloved dog to the landlady's pregnant and abandoned maid for temporary safekeeping.

A young British girl born and reared in India loses her neglectful parents in an earthquake. She is returned to England to live at her uncle's castle. Her uncle is very distant due to the loss of his wife ten years before. Neglected once again, she begins exploring the estate and discovers a garden that has been locked and neglected. Aided by one of the servants' boys, she begins restoring the garden, and eventually discovers some other secrets of the manor.

This outrageous time-travel comedy follows the misadventures of a wacky medieval knight (Jean Reno) and his faithful servant when they are accidentally transported to contemporary times by a senile sorcerer. Mayhem rules as these 12th-century visitors try adapting to the wildly confusing modern world. To avoid being stuck here for good, however, they soon begin an all-out cosmic assault on their former castle -- now a luxury hotel -- in their quest to return to the past.
