1965年、サイゴンにやって来た米軍放送の人気DJを通して間接的にベトナム戦争を描いた人間ドラマ。実在のモデル、エイドリアン・クロナウアーに扮したR・ウィリアムスのマシンガン・トークによる破天荒なDJぶりが痛快。ベトナム戦争ものとしては番外編に位置するが、戦場からの視点ではない所が興味深い。
