ニューヨークの駅構内。不審な行動を見咎められ警察に連行される謎の男プロート。彼は自らを遥か1,000光年彼方のK－PAX星からやって来た異星人だと名乗り精神病院に送られる。プロートの治療に当たるのは精神科のパウエル医師。初めのうちは単なる妄想か虚言と高を括っていたパウエルだったが、その落ち着き払った言動や理路整然とした説明にかすかな疑問を抱き始める。さらに、プロートの存在は他の患者たちにも強い影響を与え、パウエルが治せずにいる患者たちがみるみる回復していく。

前作のジャングルから一転、舞台を近未来1997年の犯罪都市ロサンゼルスに移したシリーズ第2作。麻薬組織の抗争の只中で始まった肉食エイリアンの人間狩りにタフな黒人刑事が立ち向かう。

貨物港でクレーンのオペレーターを勤めるレイ・フェリエは離婚して一人暮らししていた。離婚した妻がボストンの実家を訪ねる間、妻が引き取った子供、ロビーとレイチェルを預かったが彼らと打ち解けられずにいた。ある日の朝、稲妻が数十回も町の同じ場所に落ちると町中が停電し不気味な雲に覆われる中、レイは野次馬たちとともに落雷場所を見にいくと地中から巨大な機械が出現しレーザー光線で次々に人々を殺害し町を破壊してゆく。

謎の円盤型飛行物体が地球に飛来し、事件を巻き起こす。テレビジャックにより人類にコンタクトを取ってきた「ミドリ人」と名乗る宇宙人は、巨大な脳に大きな目、骸骨のような口元の奇怪な緑色の生物だった。 見栄えばかりを気にするアメリカ大統領デイルは、政権内が穏健派と過激派にわかれる中、異星人を大々的なセレモニーで歓迎することにする。大統領の周囲は、ヒステリーな妻マーシャ、シニカルな大統領の娘タフィにお調子者の広報官ジェリー、楽観的なケスラー教授、ベトナム以来の鬼将軍デッカーという面々だった。

ローズとクリストファーは、娘・シャロンの奇妙な言動に悩んでいた。ローズは、しばしば情緒不安定に陥り、何かに取り憑かれたかのように「サイレントヒル…」と謎のうめき声を発する娘に心を痛め、サイレントヒルという街が実在することを知り、治療のためにシャロンを連れてそこを訪ねることにする。しかし、サイレントヒルは30年前の大火によって多数の人々が死亡した忌まわしい場所であり、今では誰も近付かない廃墟と化した街であった。途中、女児誘拐犯と勘違いされて女性警官に追われるものの、二人とも帰り道が突如切れ無くなった街に取り残され、シャロンも後部座席から消えており、捜索、他の住人への聞き取りなど進めていくが不思議な現象に巻き込まれてゆく。

1982年の南極。ノルウェー隊のヘリが、1匹の犬を追ってアメリカ南極観測隊第4基地へ現れた。銃や手榴弾を使い執拗に犬を狙うが失敗し、手違いからヘリは爆発。一人生き残ったノルウェー隊員は基地内へ逃げた犬を追って銃撃を続け、基地の隊員を負傷させるが基地の隊長により射殺される。ノルウェー基地へ向かったヘリ操縦士のマクレディらが見つけたものは、自殺し凍りついた隊員の死体、何かを取り出したと思しき氷塊、そして異様に変形し固まったおぞましい焼死体だった。一行は調査のため、記録フィルムと焼死体を持ち帰る。

There they are held prisoner by the evil queen Adastrea and aided by her selfless twin Alburnia. Meanwhile, a standard issue hunky scientist back on Earth, who happens to be Silvia’s boss, tries to rescue them.

Seven friends from Sacramento, California head out on a documented road trip to Las Vegas. Their trip takes a very unexpected turn for the worse when their back tires mysteriously blow out.
