2157年の深宇宙、マクシムは、自由調査団の宇宙船パイロットを務めていたが思わぬ隕石事故に遭う。未知の惑星に不時着するも宇宙船は大破してしまう。やがて彼は、その惑星が軍事独裁政権「匿名の父たち」に支配され、政府の設置した防衛塔が放つ特殊光線によって国民がマインドコントロールされていることを知る。そんな現状を目の当たりにし、マクシムは自らの命を投げ打つ覚悟で政府に戦いを挑む。
