「セイ・エニシング」「ザ・エージェント」のキャメロン・クロウ監督が自身の体験を基に、ブレイク寸前のロックバンドのツアーの同行取材を任された15歳の少年の姿を描いた青春音楽ムービー。15歳の少年ウィリアムは伝説的なロック・ライターに自分の記事が気に入られ、ローリングストーン誌の仕事をもらう。さっそく取材で楽屋を訪れた彼は、グルーピーの中にいたペニー・レインに一目惚れする。

1965年、サイゴンにやって来た米軍放送の人気DJを通して間接的にベトナム戦争を描いた人間ドラマ。実在のモデル、エイドリアン・クロナウアーに扮したR・ウィリアムスのマシンガン・トークによる破天荒なDJぶりが痛快。ベトナム戦争ものとしては番外編に位置するが、戦場からの視点ではない所が興味深い。

1963年のブロンクスを舞台に、徒党を組む若者たちの姿を描いた青春映画。イタリア系非行グループ“ワンダラーズ”を主役に、中国人や黒人など多様なグループが登場し、抗争や連帯といった群像劇が綴られるが、ストーリーの起伏には大きく欠ける。後半登場する暴力グループ“ダッキー・ボーイズ”の不気味さに、P・カウフマンの前作「SF／ボディ・スナッチャー」（78）のタッチが見られる。

Several teenagers in a small-town in Colorado concoct a July 4th prank based on a frightening legend that goes awry when their friend ends up accidentally killed; however, the teens agree to keep their involvement a secret from the authorities, who continue to search for the man who apparently killed their friend.
