霊体にレイプされるというショッキングな実話を基に製作されたオカルト・ホラー。ある夜、ロサンゼルスに住む2人の子持ちのシングル・マザー、カーラ（バーバラ・ハーシー）は自室で就寝中、何者かに強姦されかけたために驚いて起きるが、周りには誰もいない。その後もたびたび、不可解な現象に襲われ続けるカーラは、偶然知り合った精神科医師（ロン・シルヴァー）に相談するが、「幻覚じゃないか」と言われる。謎の現象はなおも起こり続け、ついには息子までもが怪我をしてしまう。困ったカーラは超心理学者を頼り、そして現場を訪れたクーリー博士（ジャクリーン・ブルックス）は、「この謎の現象はエンティティーの仕業である」と断定する。まもなくカーラは、恋人（アレックス・ロッコ）の目の前で全裸に剥かれ、犯されてしまう。
