The Cortez brothers rob a bank and flee beyond the Mexican border. On their trail are various people, each for a different reason: Sheriff Fulton is sent by the robbed bank to recuperate the money; Django, a head-hunter, is after them for the reward money; Pickwick is after a saddle stolen from him by the Cortez brothers; Pedro and Dolores, saloon owners, also would like to have the loot.

Following the death of her grandfather, Valentina settles with her husband Pierre, a sculptor, in the old family villa which she partly inherited (half of it belongs to her cousin Marta, who already resides there). Officer Alex Kearney patrols an upscale neighborhood in Philadelphia, where he pulls over a well-connected white collar executive who promises to get even with the policeman. Maria is a student at the university of Essen, Germany, living and working in a gray, unpleasant, and anonymous environment. In 2043, Frank and Xaver have only one big problem with their jobs at a patent office, their boss Dr. Kneitz who's mission it is to make their life miserable. But then an unique opportunity presents itself when an inventor shows up to patent a time machine and they come up with a plan to travel back in time to stop the conceiving of their boss. Accidently Ronny, a night watchman, happens to be in the room with them when they use the time machine and so, in part unwillingly, the 3 of them travel to the year 1988 in Gran Canaria and they only have a couple of days to stop every interaction with potential fathers for the mother to be.

Although first glance reveals little more than stones and sand, the desert is alive. Witness moving rocks, spitting mud pots, gorgeous flowers and the never-ending battle for survival between desert creatures of every shape, size and description.

The Mutual Film Corporation, through producer D.W. Griffith, interests for the proposition and sends the filmmaker Frank Thayer to negotiate a contract with Pancho Villa himself.
