2009年、リムジン運転手のジャクソン・カーティスは、子どもたちとの旅行を楽しんでいた。ところが、偶然湖底に沈む巨大な研究施設を発見し、地球が滅亡に向かっていることを知る。この危機から逃れる手はないものかと模索するジャクソンだったが、すでに天災は地球上の至るところで起こり始める。
