ロッキー山脈の麓に孤立する村ドッグヴィル。ある日この村の近く、ジョージタウンの方向から銃声が響いた。その直後、村人の青年トムは助けを請う美しい女性グレースと出会う。間もなく追っ手のギャングたちが現われるも、すでに彼女を隠し、その場を切り抜けるトム。彼は翌日、村人たちにグレースをかくまうことを提案した。そして、“2週間で彼女が村人全員に気に入られること”を条件に提案が受け入れられる。そうしてグレースは、トムの計画に従って肉体労働を始めることになるのだが…。

It’s 1941 and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor has destroyed America’s morale. The US President Franklin D. Roosevelt then decides to risk it all by bombing Tokyo and raise more hope for his citizens. After completing its mission, a unit of the US Air Force is forced to make an emergency landing in China. Its commander Jack Turner (Emilie Hirsch) barely survives but gets rescued by Ying (Crystal Liu), a local widow who will stop at nothing to hide him from the Japanese occupant.

Summer of 1939. Zosia is a young Polish girl who is deeply in love with Ukrainian Petro. Their great love will be put to the test when her father decides to marry her to a wealthy widower Skiba. 都会に出たものの馴染めないでいたいち子（橋本愛）は、故郷である東北地方の小さな集落・小森に戻ってくる。山に囲まれた小森の周辺にはスーパーやコンビニはないため、畑で農作物を作ったり、野山で季節のものを採ってきたりして、自給自足に近い生活をしなければならない。山の恵みを使って、夏にはグミジャムや岩魚の塩焼き、秋はくるみごはんや栗の渋皮煮などを作るいち子。もちろん自然には厳しさもある。季節の移ろいを感じ、ふと立ち止まって自分自身と向き合いながら、いち子はおいしいものを食べて次の一歩を踏み出す勇気を得ていく。

After World War II, Antonia and her daughter, Danielle, go back to their Dutch hometown, where Antonia's late mother has bestowed a small farm upon her. There, Antonia settles down and joins a tightly-knit but unusual community. Those around her include quirky friend Crooked Finger, would-be suitor Bas and, eventually for Antonia, a granddaughter and great-granddaughter who help create a strong family of empowered women.

Wanting a way to charge the prize to save the town without having to suffer the anger of their respective women, Anselmo, Ricardo, César, Juandi and Paco plots a plan in order to steal the money from the brothel, meanwhile Mari tries reconcile her stranded life and restore the memory of her deceased father, a former mayor.

Paul (Macfadyen), a prize-winning war journalist, returns to his remote New Zealand hometown due to the death of his father, battle-scarred and world-weary. For the discontented sixteen-year-old Celia (Barclay) he opens up a world she has only dreamed of. She actively pursues a friendship with him, fascinated by his cynicism and experience of the world beyond her small-town existence. “小森”は東北のとある村の中の小さな集落。いち子（橋本愛）は、一度街に出て男の人と暮らしてみたものの、自分の居所を見つけられずに、1人でここに戻ってきた。“言葉はあてにならないけど、わたしの体が感じたことなら信じられる”と、何事も自分でやってみないと気が済まない性格のいち子は、稲を育て、畑仕事をし、周りの野山で採った季節の食材を料理して食事を取る毎日を過ごしている。そんな静かなある日、彼女の元に1通の手紙が届く。それは、5年前の雪の日に突然失踪した母・福子（桐島かれん）からだった。甘酒とカボチャを使って作った3色ケーキ、子供の頃から大好きな出来立てアツアツの納豆もち、ふきのとうでつくるばっけ味噌……。母のレシピを料理しながら思う。“私は母さんにとって本当に家族だったろうか……。”今までの自分、そしてこれからの自分を思い、心が揺れ始める。親友キッコ（松岡茉優）との小さな口げんかでは、“私は、ちゃんと向き合えなくて、それで小森に帰ってきたんだな……”と落ち込む。さらに、小森のこれからを真剣に考えるユウ太（三浦貴大）からは、“いち子ちゃんは1人で一生懸命やっててすごいなと思うけど、本当は逃げてるんじゃないの”と指摘され、言葉を返せない。長かった冬も終わりに近づき、雪解けが進んできた。少しづつ畑の準備を進めてきたものの、いち子は春一番で植えるジャガイモを、今年は植えるかどうか迷っていた。来年の冬、ここにはいないかもしれないから……。自分の本当の居場所を探すいち子が、春の訪れと共に出した答えとは……。

Johan and his family are Mennonites from the north of Mexico. Against the law of God and Man, Johan falls in love with another woman.

A Czech agricultural student, Šimon Plánička, arrives at the small South Bohemian town of Hoštice, and joins the local JZD (agricultural co-op) with the intention of trying out his experiment regarding the "Milk yield of cows in regards to a cultured environment". He runs into difficulty with the directorship of the JZD, but he finds them eager to help once they hear he's the son of the local agricultural commissioner, as his last name is also Plánička. Blažena Škopková is given the task of finding out how things are looking. However everything is complicated by the jealousy of Blažena's boyfriend Venca.
