Most people don't think about singing when they think about revolutions. But song was the weapon of choice when, between 1986 and 1991, Estonians sought to free themselves from decades of Soviet occupation. During those years, hundreds of thousands gathered in public to sing forbidden patriotic songs and to rally for independence. "The young people, without any political party, and without any politicians, just came together ... not only tens of thousands but hundreds of thousands ... to gather and to sing and to give this nation a new spirit," remarks Mart Laar, a Singing Revolution leader featured in the film and the first post-Soviet Prime Minister of Estonia. "This was the idea of the Singing Revolution." At the beginning of the 1913 Mexican Revolution, greedy bandit Juan Miranda and idealist John H. Mallory, an Irish Republican Army explosives expert on the lam from the British, fall in with a band of revolutionaries plotting to strike a national bank. When it turns out that the government has been using the bank as a hiding place for illegally detained political prisoners -- who are freed by the blast -- Miranda becomes a revolutionary hero against his will.
第2次世界大戦の1941年。ナチスドイツに占領されたフランスのラ・ロシェルの港から、出撃命令によって出航する潜水艦U96にヴェルナー（ヘルバート・グリューネマイヤー）が乗り込む。ベテランの艦長（ユルゲン・プロフノウ）や乗組員に囲まれながら、荒れた海での過酷な哨戒、次々と爆雷を放ってくる敵駆逐艦との攻防、海の藻くずと化していく敵の姿など、戦争の現実を次々と目の当たりにするヴェルナー。そんな中、U96に新たな命令が下される。
第２次大戦末期のイタリア。空襲で破壊された修道院でカナダ人看護師ハナは、ある患者の世話をしている。重い火傷で英語を話すが自分の名は思い出せない。英陸軍工作兵のキップ、カナダ軍諜報部隊のデヴィッド・カラヴァッジョと共に修道院で一緒になった４人。カラヴァッジョは患者に問いかけ、患者は徐々に記憶を取り戻す。
ナチスのワルシャワ侵攻を目の当たりにし、死の収容所送りを奇跡的に逃れたシュピルマンは、ゲットーの廃墟に身を隠すことで第二次世界大戦を生き延びる。
1939年、ポーランド南部の都市クラクフにドイツ軍が侵攻した。ドイツ人実業家のオスカー・シンドラーは、一旗揚げようとこの街にやって来た。彼は金にものを言わせて巧みに軍の幹部たちに取り入り、ユダヤ人の所有していた工場を払い下げてもらう。ユダヤ人会計士のイツァーク・シュテルンをパートナーに選んだシンドラーは、軍用ホーロー容器の事業を始める。41年3月、ユダヤ人たちは壁に囲まれたゲットー（居住区）に住むことを義務づけられる。シュテルンの活躍で、ゲットーのユダヤ人たちが無償の労働力として、シンドラーの工場に続々と集められ事業はたちまち軌道に乗る。
1938年4月、少女レギーナと母イエッテルはナチスの迫害を逃れるため、故郷のドイツを後にし、先にケニアに渡っていた父ヴァルターのいるロンガイの農場へとやってきた。ドイツでは弁護士をしていたヴァルターもここでは農場で働く一介の労働者。予想を超える過酷な生活に、お嬢様育ちのイエッテルは耐えられず弱音を吐いてばかり。一方ヴァルターは、欧州情勢の悪化に、残してきた父や妹の安否が不安でならない。そんな2人を尻目に、レギーナは料理人のオウアやケニアの子どもたちとすぐに仲良くなり、アフリカの大地でたくましく成長していく…。
独裁国家となった未来のイギリス。TV局で働くイヴィーは外出禁止時間帯の夜に秘密警察に見つかり、絶体絶命の危機に見舞われたところを、"V"とだけ名乗る仮面の男に命を救われる。しかし、"V"と名乗るその男は、国家を相手にひとりテロ活動を続け、クラシック音楽の調べにあわせて街を爆破、TV局を不法占拠し、政府要人を暗殺していく、正体不明、経歴不詳、善か悪かの判別不能の男だった。1605年に国王の圧制に反発し国家転覆を図り失敗に終わったガイ・フォークスにならって、イギリスの反逆精神の象徴となったその日、11月5日-ガイ・フォークス・デイ-に、国民の決起を呼びかける"V"。正義か、犯罪か。"V"とは一体何者なのか？"V"と出会い、自分自身についての真実をも知るようになったイヴィーは、図らずも"V"の協力者となり、自由と正義を取り戻す革命のために立ち上がったー。
In this riot of frantic disguises and mistaken identities, Victor Pivert, a blustering, bigoted French factory owner, finds himself taken hostage by Slimane, an Arab rebel leader. The two dress up as rabbis as they try to elude not only assasins from Slimane's country, but also the police, who think Pivert is a murderer. Pivert ends up posing as Rabbi Jacob, a beloved figure who's returned to France for his first visit after 30 years in the United States. Adding to the confusion are Pivert's dentist-wife, who thinks her husband is leaving her for another woman, their daughter, who's about to get married, and a Parisian neighborhood filled with people eager to celebrate the return of Rabbi Jacob.
Achim Bornhak's movie focuses on the restless life of Uschi Obermaier, the icon of the 1968 movement in Germany and groupie. At the age of 16, Uschi is bored by her job in a photo lab, but soon becomes the "it girl" of Munich's club scene. When she gets to know Rainer Langhans, they move to Berlin and live in "Kommune 1", the first politically-motivated commune in Germany. While the other occupants claim she isn't political enough, Uschi just wants to have fun, works as fashion model and leads international music stars in temptation.

西暦2029年。土星付近で調査活動中の米空軍宇宙船オベロンには乗組員と遺伝子操作を受けて高い知能を持つ多数の類人猿も実験動物として搭乗していた。宇宙空間で磁気嵐を発見しチンパンジーが操縦するポッドを調査に向かわせるが通信途絶してしまう。宇宙飛行士のレオもポッドで捜索に向かうが嵐に吸い込まれ惑星に不時着する。そこは高い知能を持つ猿が人間を支配しており、レオは捕まってセード将軍に危険人物としてマークされるが人間に好意的なアリの助けで身近な人々と共に町を脱走する。
After World War II, Antonia and her daughter, Danielle, go back to their Dutch hometown, where Antonia's late mother has bestowed a small farm upon her. There, Antonia settles down and joins a tightly-knit but unusual community. Those around her include quirky friend Crooked Finger, would-be suitor Bas and, eventually for Antonia, a granddaughter and great-granddaughter who help create a strong family of empowered women.
