南米ペルーの密林深く。高い知能を持つ新種のクマの生き残りである子グマは、地震で親代わりの叔父を亡くしてしまった。かつて、ロンドンに来たら歓迎すると叔父に言い残した探検家の言葉を頼りに、彼はイギリスへとやって来る。都会の人々の冷たい仕打ちに途方に暮れる彼だったが、挿絵画家メアリー・ブラウンに助けられることに。出会った駅名にちなんでパディントンと名乗ることになった彼は、ブラウン家に居候する。

Production I.Gがアニメーション制作を手がけた、漫画『ONE PIECE』初のアニメ作品。監督は谷口悟朗、キャラクター設定は原作者の尾田栄一郎。濱崎達弥によりノベライズもされている。 オレンジの町編とシロップ村編の間の出来事を描いたサイドストーリー。後に放送が始まったテレビアニメ版とは声優が異なり、ルフィを高乃麗、ナミを豊口めぐみ、ゾロを高木渉がそれぞれ演じている。 一般販売ソフト化はされていないが、週刊少年ジャンプ1999年1号 - 6号にて応募者全員サービスとしてビデオが配布された。
