The story of the love affair between FDR and his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley, centered around the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.

舞台は19世紀ヨーロッパのとある小さな村。成金の魚屋のヴァン・ドート夫妻の息子ヴィクターと没落貴族であるエヴァーグロット夫妻の娘ヴィクトリアとの政略結婚が親同士で進められていた。お互い一度も面識もない人と結婚することを不安に思っていたが結婚式前日、リハーサルのために初対面した２人は互い好意を抱く。しかし緊張したヴィクターはリハーサルで失敗を連発し怒った牧師に式の延期を言い渡されてしまう。困った彼は人気のない夜の森で結婚式の練習をしているとき目前に突き出ていた枯れ枝のようなものを花嫁の薬指に見たて指輪をはめたことから大変な事態に巻き込まれる。

Working in Dr. Cranley's laboratory, scientist Jack Griffin was always given the latitude to conduct some of his own experiments. His sudden departure, however, has Cranley's daughter Flora worried about him. 一見ゴージャスなカップルだが、実は敵対する国際的組織の殺し屋同士。といえば殺伐とした話のようだが、愛し合う者同士だからこそ楽しい、究極の夫婦ゲンカといえそうなのが本作。「ボーン・アイデンティティー」「フェア・ゲーム」のD・リーマン監督は速いテンポでアクションを畳みかけながら、ブラピとジョリーという2大美男美女スターの顔合わせをコミカルかつオシャレに盛り上げている。

シュレックは他の人からは怖がられている怪物である。その外見とは裏腹に本質は心の優しい彼は、人里離れた沼地で一人気楽に暮らしていた。ある日、シュレックは森の中でお調子者でおしゃべりなロバのドンキーと出会う。シュレックに怯えて逃げた兵達を見てシュレックが自分を救ってくれたと思い込み嫌がるシュレックについて行く。ドンキーのおしゃべりにうんざりしたシュレックが戻ってみると、彼の沼地には妖精やおとぎ話の主人公達が押し寄せてきていた。

旅の末、フィオナの呪いを解き、無事に結婚したシュレックとフィオナ。幸せな日々を送っていたが、ある日フィオナの両親から、結婚の祝いを行うので来る様にとの手紙が届く。嫌われるに決まっていると最初は渋っていたシュレックだが、同じく結婚したドラゴンと近頃気まずいというドンキーと共に仕方なくフィオナの故郷「遙か彼方の王国」に旅立ち、到着するもシュレックの予想通り、シュレックや怪物姿のフィオナを見た両親はびっくりし、怪物という偏見と考えが合わないことでシュレックと国王は喧嘩をしてしまう。
