Noah, a farmer and family man, is instructed by an angel to build an ark in the middle of a desert in order to save both his family and the faithful from a devastating flood. God is planning to flood the world, but he doesn't want this to be the end, he wants to make sure that it can be re-populated when the floodwaters recede. So he calls on Noah and tells him to build a boat, a boat big enough to carry two members - one male, one female - of every animal species on earth. Noah complies and when the rains begin, he and his family round up the animals and commence their voyage.

Williamstown, Kentucky, is home to the Ark Encounter – a “life-size” creationist museum filled with all of the creatures that traveled in Noah's Ark, including dinosaurs. With incredible access to the park leading up to its opening, the filmmakers expose the larger system behind the creationist movement, piecing together the many factors that have led to the museum presenting its information as historical fact, and the people who are fighting to set the scientific record straight. Amid a climate of science denial and a well-funded corporate behemoth, three Kentuckians (a local geologist, an ex-creationist, and an atheist activist) try their best to challenge the movement that is taking over their home state. Meanwhile, fervent believers work diligently to create the lifelike animatronics that will be on display in the Ark.

Travel with Noah as he fulfills God’s wish, even amidst seemingly impossible odds and the scrutiny of onlookers. The Bible comes to life in jaw-dropping scale as Noah leads live animals inside the Ark – with set design towers four stories above the stage!

Noah, his family (wife, 3 sons, their wives), and various animals all help build the ark. The rains come, and the skunks barely miss the boat (not that anyone was particularly looking for them), but they manage to swim to it. After the rain and many lamentations by the humans, the sun returns, to the great joy of all. The ground appears, and the animals (and many new babies) disembark.
