名探偵ホームズも93歳の老人となり、海辺の家で静かな日々を過ごしていた。しかし、その一方で30年前のとある事件が頭に引っ掛かっていた。それは死んだ子供たちと会話しているという女性の調査だったが、いつしか彼女による夫の殺害計画の疑惑が浮上した果てに、ホームズの失態で未解決となって自身も探偵引退を余儀なくされたのだった。ある時、日本への旅行で事件解決のヒントを得たホームズは、10歳になる家政婦の息子ロジャーを助手に事件を再捜査していく。

Sherlock Holmes is drawn into the case of Jack the Ripper who is killing prostitutes in London's East End. Assisted by Dr. Watson, and using information provided by a renowned psychic, Robert Lees, Holmes finds that the murders may have its roots in a Royal indiscretion and that a cover-up is being managed by politicians at the highest level, all of whom happen to be Masons.
Concerned about his friend's cocaine use, Dr. Watson tricks Sherlock Holmes into travelling to Vienna, where Holmes enters the care of Sigmund Freud. Freud attemts to solve the mysteries of Holmes' subconscious, while Holmes devotes himself to solving a mystery involving the kidnapping of Lola Deveraux.
