How do you reconcile a commitment to non-violence when faced with violence? Why do the poor often seem happier than the rich? Must a society lose its traditions in order to move into the future? These are some of the questions posed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama by filmmaker and explorer Rick Ray. Ray examines some of the fundamental questions of our time by weaving together observations from his own journeys throughout India and the Middle East, and the wisdom of an extraordinary spiritual leader. This is his story, as told and filmed by Rick Ray during a private visit to his monastery in Dharamsala, India over the course of several months. Also included is rare historical footage as well as footage supplied by individuals who at great personal risk, filmed with hidden cameras within Tibet.

列強進出が著しい清朝末期の広東。酔八仙（酔拳）を会得したものの、酒の勢いで暴走してしまうフェイフォンは、父ケイインから酔拳の使用を禁じられていた。一方、イギリスが領事館を通じて中国の国宝を国外へ密輸していた事実を察知した武術家マンケイは阻止に動く。ひょんなことからマンケイと知り合い事情を知ったフェイフォンだったが、やがて英国の魔手が彼とその仲間に及ぼうとしていた。

三国時代の中国。漢の丞相の曹操（のちの魏の礎を築いた）は、北部を平定した後、南部も制圧するために兵を進める。その目的は、天下統一に邪魔な劉備・孫権の抹殺だけでなく、今は周瑜の妻となった天下一の美人小喬の奪取にもあった。荊州にいた劉備軍は南下して軍を立て直そうとするが、途中の当陽県長坂にて追いつかれ、敗走する。 夏口へ逃げた劉備は、部下の諸葛亮（孔明）の提案に従い、孔明を孫権（のちに呉を建国）のもとへ派遣する。孔明は孫権の総司令である周瑜と意気投合し、2つの勢力は共に曹操と戦う同盟を結ぶ。孫権は数万の軍勢を派遣し、劉備軍とともに長江の赤壁付近で曹操軍と相対し、両者互いに決戦のために水軍と陸軍を動かすのだった。

名家の御曹司、ドラゴンは努力嫌いのお気楽青年。勉学と武道修行に励めという父親の小言を要領よく聞き流し、悪友のガウと連れだって遊びとスポーツに熱中する毎日。だが、可憐な村娘サウライに宛てて書いた凧型ラブレターが運悪く美術品盗賊団の味とへ落下。回収に向かったドラゴンは、盗品の国宝を巡って分裂した組織内の抗争に巻き込まれてしまう。 監督と脚本も兼任したジャッキーが、十八番のお調子者ヒーローに扮して絶品の好演。香港伝統のカンフーに、抜群の身体能力を活かしたスポーツ試合で見せる新趣向のアスレチック・アクションも大迫力だ。

The film details the various cruel medical experiments Unit 731 inflicted upon the Chinese and Soviet prisoners at the tail-end of the war.
