70年代の米人気テレビシリーズ「特別狙撃隊S.W.A.T.」を下敷きに、警察の特殊部隊S.W.A.T.の活躍を描いたポリス・アクション。数ヶ月前、ロス市警のS.W.A.T.隊員ストリートと相棒ギャンブルは、作戦実行中のギャンブルの判断ミスによってS.W.A.T.を追放される。処分に納得できないギャンブルが警察を去る一方で、再帰を願い甘んじて左遷を受けるストリート。そして今、彼はホンド巡査部長率いる新チームのメンバーに選ばれ、過酷な訓練を乗り切り、晴れてS.W.A.T.に復帰した。やがてその新チームに麻薬王アレックス護送の命令が下るが…。
