南北戦争の最中。米・マサチューセッツ州に住むマーチ家の四人姉妹は、気丈な母を中心に出征した父のいない家を守っていた。青春の煌きの中で希望に燃え、愛と哀しみを分かち合い、身も心も美しく成長していく姉妹たち。
ハリウッドのスター、ボブ・ハリス（ビル・マーレイ）はウイスキーのCM撮影のために来日し、滞在先のホテルへと向かっていた。ホテルで出迎える日本人スタッフに軽く挨拶をし部屋に入るとアメリカの妻からファックスが入る……。

Germany director Dani Levy filmed this comedy about Jewish life in today’s Germany along side the familiar east-west conflict. With it great success this film is a joyful comedy of humor and knowledge.
