倉本繭子は、会社の倒産を機に恋人の吉岡恭一にプロポーズされ、恭一の両親の住む京都へ向かう。京都に着いた繭子は、路地裏にある“本能寺ホテル”に導かれ、気が付けば1582年の本能寺にいた。繭子は現代と1582年を行き来しながら、織田信長や森蘭丸と交流を果たす。その日は信長が暗殺された本能寺の変の前日だった。
