Yoshitaka Zushi

略歴

Yoshitaka Zushi (頭師佳孝, born March 19, 1955 in Osaka, Japan) was discovered when he was eight years old by one of Akira Kurosawa's partners and debuted in the role of young Toshio in Kaneto Shindô's "Haha" (Mother, 1963). Since then he has appeared first and foremost in Kurosawa's pictures, beginning with "Akahige" (Red Beard, 1965). His most outstanding role is undeniably that of Rokkuchan, the insane young man who drives a trolley through the slums, in the wonderful "Dodesukaden" (1970).

第二次世界大戦終了後、戦争末期に名古屋を空爆した米軍捕虜を処刑した責任を問われ、B級戦犯として裁判にかけられた岡田資中将。裁判で彼は「一般民衆への無差別爆撃の責任は誰が負うのか、命令により実行した部下の責任は誰が負うべきなのか」と堂々と信念を主張し、戦勝国アメリカによる法廷を戦い抜く。

個性派作家・内田百閒の随筆を原案に、百閒の日常と彼の教師時代の教え子との交流を描く。昭和18年の春。先生は生徒たちに、作家活動に専念するために学校を去ることを告げるが、退職後引っ越した家にも門下生たちは遊びにやってくる。

北尾実加が中学2年の時、高校2年の姉・千津子は、成績優秀でピアノが上手くスポーツも得意で、高校の演劇でヒロインを務め、教師や同級生からも慕われていて、実加も憧れていた。しかし、ある日の登校中に交通事故に巻き込まれ、突然この世を去ってしまう。ところがその後、死んだはずの姉の声が実加の頭の中に聞こえてくるようになった。姉の声は自分にしか聞こえないけれど、自分を確実に見守ってくれていた。

黒澤明監督自身が見た夢をベースに、時に美しく、時に残酷な8つの物語がオムニバス形式でつづられ、豊潤なイメージ世界が描かれる作品。きつねの嫁入りを見た少年の話「日照り雨」。花吹雪の中、人形たちが舞い踊る「桃畑」。戦争で生き残った男が体験する不可思議な物語「トンネル」。ゴッホが絵画の世界に入り込んだ「鴉(からす)」。原発の恐怖を描いた「赤富士」など、8つの物語が、時に美しく、時に残酷にオムニバス形式でつづられていく。黒澤監督の豊潤なイメージ世界を堪能できる作品。

乱

戦乱の世を生き抜いた武将・一文字秀虎も70歳を迎え、家督を息子3人に譲ることを決意。長男の太郎には一の城、次男の次郎には二の城、三男・三郎には三の城をそれぞれ与えた上、3人兄弟、仲良く相和して暮らすように説く。だが、三郎は、父の今後の身を案じたのがかえって秀虎の不興を買い、地方へ追放されてしまう。さらに3人兄弟の城を泊まり歩いて余生を暮らすつもりだった秀虎だが、太郎、次郎にそれぞれ疎んじられる。

赤ひげ
