大陸から２００キロ離れた海洋研究施設から、潜水した探査船が未知の海溝を発見。しかし、喜びもつかの間、船は未知の海域で消息を絶った。潜水レスキューのプロ、ジョナス・テイラーは、救助に向かった先で、生物学の常識を超えた“モンスター”＝MEGと遭遇。しかし、その恐怖は単なる始まりに過ぎなかった。船を破壊し、研究施設を壊滅させたMEGは、陽光まばゆいビーチをも恐怖に陥れようとしている。ジョナス率いる海洋エキスパート・チームは、この危機をどう乗り切るのか。

The problem is, he can’t remember which of these two personas is his true identity.
