引っ込み思案な性格で自分の世界に閉じこもって生きてきた真実は、自立のため工場でバイトを始めるが、けがをして解雇されてしまい、ニート生活に逆戻りする。彼女の父親・英輔は新たなバイト先として、ゲーム会社で新作ゲームにバグがないかどうかを探す“デバッガー”という仕事を見つけてくる。勤務初日、真実は社の製作部ディレクター矢部が落としたゲームキャラのイラストに手を加えたことを機に絵の才能を見いだされる。

下落合ヒーローアクションクラブの社長にして、その道25年のスーツアクターである本城渉（唐沢寿明）。数年ぶりにヒーロー番組の劇場版作品に出演した彼は、一ノ瀬リョウ（福士蒼汰）という人気若手俳優と出会う。ヒーロー番組に敬意を払わないリョウと対立するも、ある出来事を契機に本城は彼と絆を育むように。そんな中、日本で撮影中のハリウッド大作で、落下して炎にまみれながらノーカットで殺陣を繰り出すクライマックスに出演する予定だった俳優が、恐れをなして降板。慌てたスタッフは、本城の評判を聞き付けて出演をオファーする。
